All of the elements that make up a Dune book are just gone. Widely considered one of the greatest works within the sci-fi genre, Dune has been the subject of various film and TV adaptations, including the 2021-released film directed by Denis Villeneuve. Really, I'm glad someone could gain some entertainment and interest, but it just isn't for me. Dune is a landmark science fiction novel first published in 1965 and the first in a 6-book saga penned by author Frank Herbert. If you guys like this book (or the others) then that's great. Anderson of all authors! The most boring writer with no style what's so ever. I also recently bought books 7 and 8 but now I'm asking myself 'Why?' The son can write to save his life and he paired up with K.J. Frank Herbert wasted his time writing this rather than the actual conclusion to this series. Nothing stood out to me and one of my favorite characters from Heretics, Darwi Odrade is boring and not her character. No body does anything, I'm reading about the god damn menu at Chapterhouse for crying out loud! There is nothing of interest for me and I'm asking myself 'Why am I doing this?' I read this book once before and I couldn't remember what I read. I'm halfway into this book and nothing has really happened. But someone please explain ChapterHouse Dune for me?!? (I've read the next book by the son and half of the 8th book). 6 however just confuses me? And does anyone think most of the book is just the characters monologue-ing? Nothing exciting or hugely interesting is happening? And no I don't need explosions or fight scenes to get excited. I'm reading it again and I am both confused and bored? I'm not going to deny that much of Dune isn't over my head, but I've understood the basic plot from Dune 1-5.
